On March 25th, 2008, their Excellencies, the Governor-General of Australia and his wife, Mrs. Jeffery held a reception in honour of Essere at Admiralty House in Kirribilli. That evening, Essere staff, associates, friends and members of the business community gathered to recognise and celebrate the wonderful work Essere does for our children and young people in our community. The Governor–General spoke of the need for an organisation like Essere in our community and applauded the support other organisations had given in helping to achieve Essere’s vision and encouraged them to continue to do so. After the Govenor-General spoke of the importance of the work of Essere, as did two high school students from Bede Polding College, Blake and Kuhan.
